Basic Info
Name:Anthony Goldstein
Birthdate:1980-10-05
Bio
Where do you visualize your character fitting in to the post-war wizarding world? What do they do? Anthony comes from a prominent Jewish Wizarding family (dictating marriage, therefore, by blood of a different sort) that steadfastly supported Dumbledore and Harry Potter throughout the second rise and fall of Voldemort. Naturally, Anthony is hopeful for the future and happy to have played his part in the Battle of Hogwarts as a DA member. As a Ravenclaw, he achieved nearly as many OWLs as Hermione, and his experiences during the war combined with his academia have led him to consider a career as an Auror. However, given the stringent requirements for the position and the chaotic nature of his seventh year, Anthony is not at all certain where he will end up in the coming months. For now, he is content to gather his wits after all that's happened and reconnect with friends and family.

Does your character have any hopes, motivations, dreams or desires? Anthony hopes to be an Auror, having been given a taste of what it might be like in the Battle of Hogwarts. If in the end he fails to pass Auror Training, he is also considering a career in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. He comes from a large family with a fair amount of wealth, and as a typical child born of the upper middle-class, he hopes to match or exceed his parents' success. He is close friends with the other Ravenclaw boys in his year and also seeks to find a home and employment near them, if possible. He is a cheerful, energetic young man who very much enjoys his relationships with family and friends and holds them above most everything else.

What are some struggles your character might undergo? Anthony is the youngest of six and the only boy, meaning that his parents have put a great deal of pressure on him to have a proper Jewish family with proper Jewish children in the Goldstein name. Though gregarious, Anthony struggles with the idea of following the beaten path and settling down with 2.5 children, especially children born from a marriage dictated by ethnicity and social standing. To Anthony, the principles of marrying a Pureblood for the sake of their blood status and marrying a Jewish girl are uncomfortably similar - and indeed, they have been one and the same for a family that is both Pureblood and Jewish.

What are any existing personal relationships that your character might have? Anthony is (muns willing) best friends with Michael Corner and Terry Boot, with whom he has gone through most everything, from sitting together at the Sorting Feast their very first year to fighting Death Eaters in their last. Outside of their trio, he is close friends with Stephen Cornfoot. (His relationship with Kevin Entwhistle is up to the mun.) As for family, he is incredibly close to an older sister, Mamie, who is his best friend. He has four other older sisters, all of whom have started families, and recently lost one in the ordeal against Voldemort. He has been grieving for her, but is nonetheless thankful that in his huge family no one else was lost.

Short third-person POV roleplaying sample: CRACK!

Both arms, both legs, all fingers ... It was not as if Apparating STILL made Anthony nervous; he just figured that he ought to check. He was not scared, just cautious. Who knew when an eyebrow or two might get waylaid? Really ... it had only been a year.

Having found all his body parts intact, Anthony looked up around him at the bustling activity of a renewed Diagon Alley. The restored life
of the place was remarkable - it had only been a few months, after all, but the mood and the atmosphere of his current environment was
very nearly back to what he had grown up in. It was enough to bring an unconscious smile to his face.

Now, if only he could locate Michael in this cheerful havoc. He was unfamiliar with the place Michael had suggested for lunch (he always did prefer the eclectic sorts of nourishment) but was optimistic in his food-finding abilities; Anthony set off into the crowd with a
bounce in his step.

First-person POV journal entry: Well, I'm back home. I have been for awhile, but the whole extended family's been visiting in light of the attacks and I've scarcely had the time (or space) to write. Not that I would dream of complaining, but I'm fairly certain that I've just seen every relative who has ever known my name (and quite a few who have forgotten it). And not only did I have to see all my aunts, uncles, grandparents, greatgrandparents, great uncles, great aunts, and a few family friends besides, they also brought cousins. Small cousins. Noisy, nosy cousins, one of whom ripped my entire Auror Training Manual to shreds and tossed it in the fireplace. I've quite a few nephews and nieces too, given that Mamie is the only one who hasn't started a family yet. So it's been more than a little crazy round my place. Like I said, though, I could never complain. All the company has completely driven out the grief from losing Zipporah ... except, of course, when we've been together to mourn. Before they got here, everything reminded me of Zippy ... Her husband is a ghost of what he was and Jacob isn't old enough to know what's been happening, so he keeps asking, which (predictably) helps little. I won't write anymore about it - just suffice it to say .. I have never been more grateful for the circus that is this family. It was enough that I almost didn't get angry when the tutorial for my life's plans went literally up in smoke. (Almost being the operative word.)
